I work in healthcare and rely HEAVILY on my electronic health record platform, so I think I'm assuming that it's more efficient to build from a platform rather than needing to transition later, but perhaps I'm just making it more complex than it needs to be at this stage. 

Once you've got that experience, you can slowly transition to solo projects. 

It sounds like you're in an ideal position to transition into real estate investing, with both your industry experience and a strong local market at your advantage.

You've already put in some great thought, and with that ADU, you've got a lot of options.One thing to consider is starting with long-term tenants in the ADU for a bit and then transitioning it to a mid-term rental (MTR) down the line when you feel more comfortable.

Good morning, my wife and I have been running  transitional homes for men and women 18+ who struggle with chemical/mental health issues going on roughly 5 years.
