Myrtle Beach and its surrounding communities - collectively known as the "Grand Strand" - have garnered a lot of attention from the investor community over the past several years. 

I’m starting with just 1 listing but plan to recruit neighbors in my beach market to list on my custom website tailored to our community / market so I hope to be at 10+ listings soon even though I only own & operate 1 right now.Guesty’s pricing did not appear to be competitive and for someone starting with fewer than 4 units but planning to scale up behind that, Guesty does not offer a migration path from their “for hosts” product to their “for pros” version - it would have been a complete redo on setting everything up.

A lot of these southern beach & mountain towns have been supporting STR for 75+ years, long before Airbnb was a thing, so they’re very comfortable with it and it’s a built-in part of the community.A lot of Northern places are FREAKING OUT over STRs & STR regulations & they don’t seem to be very supportive of it.

Two of my close friends just purchased apartments in downtown Punta Cana (which are under construction) and we just built in another beach town called Samana. 

Its 2 miles from the beach and just 20mins south of downtown and close to 5 navy bases.

Good beaches around as well.

It’s just 7 miles from the beach, 2 miles from a large new hospital and medical campus, and within 2 miles of the county government offices.

I live in Virginia Beach and so Im considering renting out some weeks next summer in this area.Thanks for responding alex Chin
