Restaurants etc. 

Appliances and fixtures were old and tired.Basically, the core bones of the property were good, but there were a lot of things that seemed ripe for easy improvement.The location was great, right next to the town’s primary commercial district, with a grocery store 100 yards away, coffee shop/bakery, Post Office, drugstore, hardware store, hair and nail salons, barber shop, dentist, bank, a half dozen restaurants, and a variety of other shops and services.

Turned out these were animal bones but we had to shut down work for a couple days....you just never know do ya?

@John McKee, I have no direct experience with this scenario, but here are some thoughts:First, drive thru's are limited to banks (and even these seem to be disappearing) and restaurants.  

.- McGowin Park developed a huge retail space in 2015 which consists of: 199,500- square-foot retail shopping center containing a future expansion area, five restaurant "pads" and 4.5 acres of outparcel development, and the west development consists of a 148,000-square-foot anchor store with an associated gas station, an 89,600-square-foot shopping center and 7.41 acres of outparcel area.

That was shut down by my neighborhood with in months and I ended up selling for around $50k.Huge failure that was offset by the appreciation of my fourplex.

There is a meeting every two Tuesdays at the Squadron Restaurant next to the Airport. 30 to 40 people from newbies to Buildings owners. 

Development of more consumer friendly commercial locations like: attractions, restaurants, quick bite places, bars, etcA couple years later today I am still noticing the same trend in my City.

Local coffee shops, restaurants, schools, etc.
