I've heard of bank officers telling an investor to do similar practices to get underwriting approval, but I've always thought it was fraudulent whether or not a bank officer was involved.Tax evasion is a serious offense that does get prosecuted.

Yes, buy it and then sell it.Taking money outside of closing and not disclosing it on a HUD is a federal violation, it's also tax evasion, filing false tax reports for you and the other two parties.

They are shutting down large grows when they find them and turning over the operators to the IRS for tax evasion but I have not heard of them seizing and real estate in the process.
