@Derek AllenMost of the Big-5 owned brokerages will still allow a non-arms length mortgage to be held by a registered account (Self-directed RSP, TSA or RIF (not sure about RESP)) - but in today's interest  rate environment the costs and overhead of having your registered account lend to you is quite likely not a good use of funds.If you want to hold lend arms-length notes and hold mortgages in a registered account, the only lenders left doing this (as of 2012/2013) were:B2B Trust (a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank);Canada Western Trust;Olympia Trust; andEastern Trust (a boutique lender in NFLD).

This has also changed the feel of the neighborhood from being more boutique type of businesses to more multinational chains opening there .

While these have their place in a city like Playa del Carmen, I don't think they're very Tulum and I suspect they'll be less favoured by renters, which wouldn't be optimal given the number of people with similar units.While we know of plenty of boutique projects that have been successful, the success of such large projects with renters (and resale buyers) in Tulum is unproven as far as I know.2.

I see a transition into smaller boutique stores, service industry shops, and experience based stores.

For starter agents Keller has a great training program  once you get trained then you can move to less expensive options.. but a good start is to get on a Keller team.My wife and I are with Soldera and they are a great boutique firm with high dollar producers not really a starter office...

However, after going to a local BP meet up, I met a gentleman who recently joined a small boutique Commercial Real Estate Firm.
