I'm in the RTP area and also a newbie.

Currently my focus is in Mebane and Burlington due to costs vs ROI, although I live in RTP.  

My Rent to Price ratio is about 0.76%, which doesn't hit the 1% rule but the RTP ratio is worse in the Bay Area, more like 0.54% ratio.
