I also mentioned that I was surprised by her lack of response, said I thought we had a good working relationship, that our company strives to provide top quality accomodations and expect our tenants to make timely payments, that tenant performance is considered at lease renewal, and said she should feel free to contact me to discuss this.

If she is a qualified applicant then she's a qualified applicant.The ADA stuff if she requests it, can usually fall under a reasonable accomodation and you would need to comply with her requests ie grab bar, roll up ramp etc.

:c)My comments were based on the idea that for it to be noticeable enough that the OP was investigating a fix, and that they appear to be the type of investor wanting to do things right, a fix if possible and affordable was in order.I follow your logic completely, as I have leveled MANY a floor to accomodate tile and base cabinets and forced myself to discard my level in favor of my eyeballs when hanging upper cabinet!

- A landlord can't refuse to rent to someone just because he's handicapped (obvious)- If a handicapped renter wants to add handicap accomodations, the landlord can't refuse, but the landlord doesn't have to pay.Unfortunately, the commercials the government is running aren't very clear, and even make it sound like the landlord is financially responsible for making the accomodations.
