I think that is always recommended and it is something I do.My inspector has uncovered things they werent aware of and has also alerted me to issues to monitor to make sure they are rehabbed properly (for instance ensuring that the electrical scope included adding additional circuits because the current number was deficient).

Even if you think a certain activity or group is pointless sometimes you will uncover $$ opportunities.

A visual inspection and a pressure test should uncover most issues. 

For example, an investor who is experienced enough and wise enough to perform the due diligence necessary to uncover an emerging market where there will be several factors that would contribute to rapid future price growth in housing would be making a speculation play, but would be doing so with a stacked deck as other investors may in fact just be rolling the dice.

We bought a house that had good bones, and that paid off in a big way as we uncovered no major renovation surprises.

If you've found some that seem profitable just make sure you do the due diligence and uncover all of the costs.

If it is set very low, either you are dealing with a seller that doesn't know what they have / the market or they know but there are some issues to uncover. 

They will ask enough questions to uncover the fact that you were transferred and may require proof of such?

I didn't have a contractor or anyone inspect it yet and property is being sold as is. what are some strategies I can use to talk the sell down a couple thousand in case there is a bigger issue that I will uncover later. please Help
