Also, I was tired of the cold weather, since I am a beach guy, SCUBA Dive, play beach volleyball, love to fly planes and seafood.

Next, get on a plane, spend some time and get familiar with what is exactly going on. 

Couple of hrs by plane would allow you to invest in midwest.

Would cost a lot $$$ to constantly take trips out there by plane, hotel, etc...Any words of wisdom that you all could recommend?

At the moment I am not planing a build out just minor updating.  

According to a Forbes article, " a survey conducted by Wakefield Research, found that one-third of Americans are more afraid to start their own business than to jump out of a plane!" 

what we saw was a priority for housing and less priority on cars motor homes boats planes toys in general.So instead of buying a house and having 150k worth of cars and car or lease payments. plus the motor home plus the boat.

It would not go so far to say its great for multi family unless your planing to spend a lot to get into a good area. 

I do not want excessive inquiries on my credit report because I am planing to invest in couple of more properties in future.
