My step-dad is a doctor who has  a pretty penny invested in stocks, mutual funds, IRA's etc. 

I was having allergies and went to the doctor to do some testing.

A doctor is renting a house smaller than ours for $2,300.I guess I'm asking if I should be afraid of renting.

He is also looking to fund a large construction project for a 60+ unit apartment complex, and is seeking to form a syndication to help fund the construction.I'm attempting to help him by reaching out to accredited investors such as doctors and attorneys via phone/email to gauge interest.In reality, I have very little idea of what I'm doing, and am not sure if calling/emailing these individuals is kosher.Any thoughts/ideas/criticisms from those of you who are experienced in this area?

A formal consult and plan might cost 3K to 5K.Also look at the website "Semi-retired MD" as two doctors describe how they qualified as real estate investors.

Do not accept a credit report from an applicant - they are too easily doctored.

But if you think that path is leading most to the same level of wealth and security that a doctor or engineer or lawyer or MBA gets, you are mistaken.

He'll be a Doctor of Physical Therapy and she's going to UK for her Masters and possibly Doctorate in Social Work. 

I've seen The Good Doctor and ER but I've never thought, "Yeah, I could do that.
