@Rosa Regier- thanks - unlikely this would be possible ...also - fyi - the loan pricing for a " vacation home " is very similar to pricing for a rental property ...so you likely would be gaining much even if you could classify it as a vacation home

Just to reinforce my point if you would have hired a licensed GC he would have pull permits under his licensed and the Agency having jurisdiction over your project would have not classified your project as an owner self-performing project.
