Hi Jordan,A few houses you have your eye on.If it were me I'd go knock on the doors (with  wife) of each house, and introduce myself and ask if they rent or own.If they own, (shake a hand and make a friend) and state your intentions. then leave a (work) business card.If they rent, ask for the owners info and take a drive over there (with your wife) and do the same.Then go back every few months and say hello.Just my thoughts on this.Good Luck!
