They are a superior type of lein in Texas.

If you have a realistic investor that makes it easy for you to do your job as a PM, then you reward that investor with low pricing, consistent rental income, low turn over and superior overall service.

My understanding is a 401K, as @Dmitriy Fomichenko mentions, is a far superior for retirement planing in general and for real estate investing.
