I think podcasts and books hype the "quit your job philosophy" too much. 

I'm in a bit of a pickle, because my husband and I disagree over investing philosophies and whether we should invest in a particular property.

It comes down to opposite ends of investment philosophies.

I agree with this philosophy, and I believe that are some people that should not be property manager or landlord.My earlier reply was that it is best to be friendly, but not be friends, also, to be respectful and service oriented.

I followed the Dave Ramsey philosophy right after I purchased my first investment home in 2010 and I focused on living below my means and getting out of debt.  

That being said, if an incredible deal pops up, I dont believe I'll wait.This is also my philosophy with the stock market.

@Stephen Schott I have bought and sold over 4,000 units and roughly $250 million in value, so I understand the philosophy about marketing and being different.You need to be able to attract with a message with "shock and awe" so people remember you.Again I feel I understand the marketing concept.My concern, and someone who has raised millions from investors for my syndicate deals, if my investor saw the video without advance notice or a heads up, they would be holy "bleep bleep bleep", I got millions with this dude and he just sank our ship.In my opinion, I think it is poor taste as people are really suffering right now.My business keeps growing without Grant in my circle of influence and I will keep it that way.

This is a philosophy that I try to live by.

If they don't.... well if you read any of my other things on PM I speak of my philosophy of management called an "Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove", the soft approach doesn't work, than it's all Iron Fist, and I mean that in the most tyrannical ruler means possible, the only measure I have stronger than that is when I call up the lawyer which we refer to as "The Hand of God" because thats the level of destruction she can bring down. 

Our Philosophy is we dont care about the area its the property we care about.
