I have heard from people here that there has to be two closings and two transfer taxes paid which is fine.

The double close records an extra title transfer, which will put up a red flag if i try to resell to an FHA buyer within 12 months of my purchase.

Kevin, just a reminder that you also have to transfer the security deposit, get any info on the condition of the property when tenant moved in, and anything else in the seller's file pertaining to this tenant to protect your interests if you become the landlord, even if you find out you can give 60 days' notice.

Even if you got it now, you would still need to pay a fee to have it transferred at the time of a sale.
