It does away with starting out with 'thanks for your time, this is who I am, etc.' when people just want the speaker to get to the point.

CC @Jean Tranquille that is also an active wholesaler I think you should connect with.In terms of active meetups, there's not many that I've found through BP surprisingly - however if you go on EventBrite there's one main NYC meetup that happens across different boroughs quite often (once every 2 months or so) and attracts all types of parties (investors, lenders, speakers, etc.)

Our local REI club is wonderful, but it has expenses that have to be paid -- speakers, a place to meet, a classroom for courses, tours of rehab houses, etc...
