There are extension cords being used in a permanent fashion running from the basement and through the house to some other rooms to provide more electricity in those rooms, and there are mounted power strips to provide these extension cords with power.

I was looking to rent a little while back in the area with all of the Mount streets and the cheapest house was $2700, although it was renovated already but still a basic house with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a small yard.

At it's strongest, it just seems to hang mid way in the air.The only thing I never did was replace the carpets, mainly cause I have a nasty feeling someone glued them to the concrete, and somehow, my wife had this place rented within 15 minutes of me finishing painting it.

Mount a fire extinguisher in the kitchen maybe inside on of the cabinets or pantry.It can save your property and save their lives.If the apt is two stories with the bedroom upstairs, mount a second extinguisher at the top of the staircase.They can use it to clear a pathway on the staircase to the front or back doors.

Maybe when you re-rent add this to your lease "pictures must be mounted with 1” brad style nails (very thin) and are limited to an average of X per room".
