I have had a property for 3 years, handled by a property management, in Oakland, CA and is under rent control.And we just noticed that one of our tenants (who was placed by the old owner) has a 2 bedroom voucher but was placed in a 3 bedroom unit. 

The only difference is one applicant has a Sec 8 voucher the other doesn’t.

There are a core of tenants who pay like clock work, but we can't find a management company that knows how to do a good job with section 8, VA voucher programs, etc.

I have a customer with a housing voucher who is looking to rent a 1 bedroom near Georgia State's campus downtown.

My husband is a navy veteran he has a HUD vash voucher threw the VA hospital he lives in Detroit, Michigan he has two more months to find a place can he port somewhere else and use his voucher or do he have to stay in Detroit and use his voucher for a year?

This means we essentially lose a month's rent (August) by the time that they inspect, make their offer and approve the deal (if they do at all).This is obviously a big disincentive for us as landlords and a bad situation for voucher holders as well.I was wondering how others are handling this gap?
