If a foreign nation had stuff going on like we do in America right now, we would be sending in troops to help and put them on a watch list for travel.

Hey @Vlad Stinga ordinarily that’s done by whatever CPA you’ve been using to do your tax returns in the past as s/he is already familiar with your situation and comfortable signing such a letter.Have you not asked your regular CPA/accountant, or have you not been using one and have instead been filing your own returns (or using a discount service like H&R Block or an online service)?

I'll be getting at least one estimate, but don't have the luxury of trooping a number of contractors through before putting the house under contract. and would love some corroboration.

This will allow us to phase back into "normal" life earlier than some other areas that have seen a higher impact, like New York and California, or destinations that see lots of crowding like major theme parks (Disney, Universal) and cruise ships- We are very accessible and affordable for a majority of the population, and may even see an increase in traffic as people who would ordinarily travel to areas now considered higher-risk (overseas, any fly-to destination, aforementioned theme parks and cruise liners) are looking for alternative, safer destinations- There's a wide variety of activities in the area that are outdoors and/or compatible with social distancing; the national park is the biggest, but there's horseback riding, zip lines, ATV/UTVs, river rafting/kayaking, fishing, the list goes on and on.I have every confidence we'll see a strong recovery and one that occurs earlier than most.

Put more eloquently, the Alabama Supreme Court said, “Though ordinarily there exists a presumption that one does not intend to abandon his property, this presumption is not attendant where the article claimed to have been abandoned is generally considered valueless.”[1] Photographic evidence that the contents of a tax sale property were all damaged, heavily soiled, or not worth the cost to haul to the dump, would seem to indicate “valueless” abandoned property.

The regulations now include a safe harbor for routine maintenance of buildings.Under this routine maintenance safe harbor, an amount is deemed not to improve a unit of property, and is, therefore, deductible, if it is for the recurring activities that a taxpayer (or a lessor) expects to perform as a result of the taxpayer’s (or the lessee’s) use of the unit of property to keep the unit of property in its ordinarily efficient operating condition.
