It’s in both a great area location and also street location.

@Aditi Chaudhuri When you say your property is a half mile from campus, are you a half mile south towards Center City and near Broad Street or are you half mile north, west or east of campus?

Do you mean separate meters on the street (provided by the utility) or separate meters as I've described in the building / on the piping?

The property is off a "main road" that goes through town and it is not a city owned street. 

So they’d buy the house across the street and make it nicer. 

I invest in Detroit as well, and it's a city full of opportunities if you take the time to understand it.A couple of quick tips: Get familiar with the neighborhoods—Detroit is very block-by-block, and the difference in property conditions or tenant quality can be drastic just a few streets apart.
