Cypress or cedar Shingles
7 January 2009 | 8 replies
I don't think there is any cypress available here.I would not put wood shingle on a roof because of the fire risk, and I'd sure check with my insurance agent before I did the entire outside of a house with wood shingle. You can't hardly get insurance for a house with a shake roof, and I'd want some reassurance that there wasn't going to be a problem over the siding. There is a fire resistant manufactured siding that looks like wood shingles.

Colorado REO's
27 June 2008 | 3 replies
Of course, you'd have the 4-5 things you'd desperately like to know about REO pre-written...and just go down the list.Make a point to drop a handwritten thank-you card in the mail that day...with your name...and a mention of the conversation....NO Business Card. Then stop by in the next 48 hours and meet him...shake hands...don't stay...just wanted to pop in and say "Hi"...but I do have a couple more question for my project, "could I call you later?"...

Eviction Issue

The rents are (usually) substantially below market; there is deferred maintenance in the units; and the tenants have a Long Term bad habit of not following the terms of the rental agreement or LL/Tenant laws.By shaking things up immediately, they are put on notice to shape up or look elsewhere, and the sooner you get qualified tenants willing to follow the rules, the better. To be clear, I would NOT make such an offer to a tenant I put in, or at any time other than very soon after closing on a new rental.

So don't be so upset at people trying to stay in their homes and get a fair shake from the lender...it actually HELPS the overall situation when a lender does this!
