My wife and I had very lean years starting out and we’re saddled with six figures of student loan debt between us.

We are reading and studying about buying properties saddled with tax liens... as this sounds promising, I'm sure there are hidden risks.  

After going on a buying spree of over a dozen properties, I realized (the hard way) just how many expensive mistakes I'd made, and discovered I'd saddled myself with a lot of liabilities rather than assets.

I remember years ago somebody broke into the tack room and stole all the saddles (several other horse barns were also hit the same night and so it was definitely well-coordinated).

Garfield, Lodi, Saddle Brook, and Hackensack are areas that have abundant multi-families properties that are in lower price ranges.

There is another building that could be turned into a saddle shop or add about 10 more stalls.

So this might work best with tenants who have less than stellar credit but are not saddled with any evictions, right?

I ended up loosing my entire investment AND getting saddled with a ton of debt I didn't know about.

@Scott GouletI generally do a pretty substantial rehab right after purchasing so I am not saddled with the ongoing maintenance you’re describing.

Guys ...I'm talking about Maine here seriously, put down the lobster roll and saddle up..
