We put in headers over both of the openings into this room, and removed a door that led to the adjacent mud room and it really made the flow of the lower level complete.The new corner fireplace.

if front to back you should be ok, if they join in the center then a supporting header will need to be installed, either below, flush with hangers, or above in the attic and strap the joists to the beam.

The last thing that grinds my gears is I find out from one of my contractors that the placement of 2 floor to ceiling glass door balconies right on top of each other per unit is not a wise thing to do as it is nearly impossible to construct since there is no room for any header space and if it were plausible, it would be very expensive.

You need a header with jack posts on each end against the walls so you have a clear opening.

@Robert GodfreyThose used cabinets you are proposing look nice (and are an upgrade) but a few things you need to consider...biggest one being you’ll have to rip out that header above the current cabinets to get those 42” tall uppers in there (a lot of drywall work and mess).

I flipped a property a few years ago, never in a million years did expect carpenter ant damage in the back wall, absolutley no signs of it, well I ended up have to tear just about the whole wall in the kitchen out, the damage went from the sill plate all the way Into the header, theirs was barely any wood left to the studs.
