I'm curious how buyers handle determining buyer agent compensation up front.

Think of it this way:                - Buyer A: $100K Price seller to compensate 5% (2.5% to each) to listing and seller's broker VS Buyer B: $98K Price and buyer compensates their own broker.

Generally, everything is negotiable so even if it's godawful, I would likely just ask for it to be fixed or compensated for.

Tim Gordon  ya that's the issue when you bring a buyer and seller together for the expectation of compensation  IE you don't actually own what your selling,, and you make a fee that requires a RE license .. if you look at the bigger wholesalers in FLA you will see they are all licensed.I suspect this will start to happen in Ca as the BRE starts to tag those who are out there acting like Brokers when in fact they have no license to market properties they don't own.as we know you can market a contract and assign it.. its when wholesalers start marketing on the internet just like a RE borker that it cross's the line.other wise think about it ..

The only language I can find is as follows: "Short-term rental means an accommodation where, in exchange for compensation, a residential dwellingunit is provided for lodging for a period of time not to exceed 30 consecutive days."

The builder's PSA is going to have clauses protecting them in the event of unforeseen delays, but if the delays are bad enough, they might be willing to compensate a buyer on a case-by-case basis.

Section 61-2c-102 broadly defines "Business of residential mortgage loans" as follows:(g) (i) "Business of residential mortgage loans" means for compensation or in the expectation of compensation to: (A) engage in an act that makes an individual a mortgage loan originator; (B) make or originate a residential mortgage loan; (C) directly or indirectly solicit a residential mortgage loan for another; (D) unless excluded under Subsection (1)(g)(ii), render services related to the origination of a residential mortgage loan including: (I) preparing a loan package; (II) communicating with the borrower or lender; or (III) advising on a loan term; or (E) engage in loan modification assistance.

I didn't see any requirement for compensation in this regard, so I don't think I technically owe her anything, but offered $50 for the inconvenience, since it was longer than she initially was ok with.
