The inspector did point out some evidence of water damage on the ceiling and stated it might be from the upstairs bathroom...it tested negative for moisture but probably bc the unit was vacant at the time.

Few salesmen will tell you this, but NEVER use a window cleaner containing ammonia - - it will destroy the seal on the frame-glass contact and let moisture between the panes which ruins the whole purpose of dual pane glass.

Once those older systems no longer see daily use and sit for years many die off.You need to review the condo budget and see if there have been pluses or losses the last 5 years and if the board is constantly changing over ( instability ).If it is in a bathroom then without a fan could be surface moisture.

This just mitigates the risk that a renter will expose the material to too much moisture because they aren't going to be as conscious about it as a homeowner may be.

BathroomThe receptacle on the east wall of the front room tested as having reverse polarity.GARAGEIPMC 604.3 - The taped wire connections on the ceiling must be in a junction box.The receptacle must have GFCI protection.IPMC 703.1 - All openings and pipe penetrations in the ceiling and around the perimeter of the ceiling must be sealed with fire rated material.I find it hard to find someone to take care of these.

I do not know anyone that thinks Dricore is worth the money in our area.To me it seems like it would cause a huge increase in the wicking of water into the sheetrock if there was a leak.Where would the moisture go if you seal off the 1/4 inch gap around the edge with vinyl?

I can tell you that laminate is very susceptible to moisture and liquids in general.

Unless things are different in different parts of the country but I don't think so... if you read the fine print of the warranty of tub reglazers there will be a paragraph about not setting anything on the reglazed bathtub ever again, meaning, no soap, no shampoo bottles etc... this is a pretty good indication of the resilience of the process, they are basically worried about anything on the surface for a long period of time causing moisture issues and bubbling the 'reglaze'.
