The reason I originally discarded it was the cost of real estate in the major cities there ...but I’m guessing smaller towns will be more affordable.

People put a LOT of theory into them... but at the end of the day, they are often discarded once the contact is programmed into the phone.

@Patrick Slagle hardware stores and locksmiths usually have a bucket of unused keys that accumulate as they discard the keys that come with locksets that they are rekeying.

I just thought of one more item that is important to mention is that if the person abandons the house and has belongs (stuff) in the house you need to find out what the law is in your area of how long you must keep those items in storage before you can discard.
