I made it clear that changing the locks is a violation of the lease and I have a right to enter with notice, to which he agreed (but he did point out his sensors placed strategically on the door and said please give notice so that the alarm is not set off.)

It adds another layer to stop a potential thief, and in some C-/D areas, we've noticed people would literately just walk through the yard, no respect for anything.. this stopped with a fence.
