They take a little longer, but are less destructive to plastics, window seals, etc.

They do not, but they have a $20 plastic casing for their cameras so they can go outside.

I doubt the windows are that drafty to cause most of the problem. but I do know we grew up putting the plastic wrap over the windows every winter.

The water may be from a clogged condensate drain/evaporation system, or, water/icemaker line, especially if it is a plastic hose vs. soft copper.
