Is there a clear distinction?

The distinction may not matter, but we will find out. 

The distinction between these and heavy plastic is that pretty much anything can go in them; naily-boards, plaster, glass - all the stuff that rips up/out regular plastic bags like butter can go in these no problem.

There was a distinct poop smell when you walked into the house.

There's a distinct possibility their parents have no idea you couldn't/wouldn't sue them out of state, and besides, most (not all) parents will do the right thing when it comes to their kids out of a sense of duty and shame, if nothing else.

Rather it is to draw a distinction between the expectations we have in long term rental versus short term, that are often taken for granted or intentionally glossed-over by more transactional sites and services like AirBnB and others. 

The important distinction here is -- just because I, as a layman, didn't notice something was out of code, doesn't mean it's no longer a code violation.

To some degree I agree with both @Tom V. and @Greg S.Then again, I'd like to add that I think a distinction should be made between the (surely rare) case of a person having no credit score at all and one having a bad credit score.

It will cost extra but it's hardly a duplex with one thermostat or anything that's not distinctly different.

I'm weary of putting vinyl siding on a house with distinct character because I think it will make it look out of place or cheap.
