I worked on a development of 80 houses, and the city required 30% to be open space (for roads, lawns, curbs, gutter, etc).

This one has a newer, separate second unit with a lot of amenities, front unit has more curb appeal and is larger, and the lot is located in a business district on the edge of a neighborhood, so there are options.

A light cream or grey would make your stained columns really pop and provide great curb appeal. 

Just purchased this raised ranch to flip usually I have a clear idea what needs to be done outside to give a nice curb appeal to the home.

Just recently had a water supply line burst at the curb.

They can kick the unlicensed broker fraud to the curb:)

Is there an issue with the curb appeal and/or neighborhood for either? 

Your treatment of the side door undermines the welcome of the main entry and will severely detract from your ability to amp up the curb appeal of the home.

If you want to improve curb appeal for a quick sell, paint and landscaping can go a long way.  

I'll pick a silly example, Curb Appeal (recall I'm B&H investor).Say I just love gardening and the yard is plain old grass.
