Hello All,  I am on  disability as I could no longer work at my high paying tech job due to spinal infections and the stress. 

There's always a need for more ADA compliant STR, so I would try to make the property accessible to those with disabilities. 

You'd think they'd disable the notifications or spread their knowledge where they feel it put to better use, if they believe it's continually falling on deaf ears or being shared with those less intelligent for even considering such.

I need to help my father who is disabled with a inherited traditional IRA.

@Robert Williams See if they offer you protections in case you become disabled, unemployed, or worse die.

We are on fixed incomes with disability so this extra income would be perfect for passive income for us.

Having to be the person to pick up an ill possibly disabled person and physically put them on the curb knowing they cannot take care of themself would be heartbreaking.

It does impact the VA funding fee, however, unless of course you have VA disability and are exempted from such. 

With no W-2 income I'd want a minimum of $10,000 per unit set in reserves.Also, I'm assuming your current employer is paying for part or all of things like health insurance, retirement plans (Social Security, if nothing else), short and long-term disability insurance, and possibly some other nice perks that will be your own to foot the bill once you go full time RE.
