As I understand the situation in Atlanta, there is only an official moratorium on evictions for specific city of Atlanta partner organizations (e.g., Atlanta Housing Authority, Atlanta Beltline, Invest Atlanta, etc.).

The house is still several weeks (at the earliest) away from being done, and with everything going on with the economy starting to recede, pre-foreclosures in my area are sky-rocketing, I'm wondering if backing out is the best idea?

Recessions are exhausting, scary, sad, frustrating, anxious times; and while it might seem exhilarating to be able to find great real estate deals, there aren't too many people giddy over the prospect of negotiating short sales with seller who have no place to go or getting a great price on a house because the owner is facing foreclosure in two days.The best way to describe it is like receiving an organ transplant.
