There are scenarios where adjusting the commission can make sense (like a pocket listing within your brokerage that you don't spend much time or money on for example, or for investor clients doing multiple deals a year, multimillion dollar properties, family, etc.) but simply dropping your commission up front as a way to attract more clients/ generate more business is not a good strategy in my opinion because it hurts your brand and is unnecessary
