His right, Its an RF transmitter and then the plumber has what looks like a metal detector and can locate the transmitter X feet down.You won't need to cut all the slab but you will need two holes min (this you can do yourself) The plumber will need to snap the cast iron at either end then pull of thru, either in one long piece or snap into a few pieces.

I owned on facility it had 44 10X20's with 7k sq ft of commercial on top.. its was not a metal storage type facility it was all brick and sticks built with sheet rock walls etc.. it was located right next to the Columbia river so my tenant were all house boaters.. ( its was great) I then put a condo plat on them and sold them off individually ( very nice play) So the house boaters could add this Garage to their homes increased the value of the floating homes..

We have a community of 60 year old slab houses , they were built with copper pipe in the slab for heat , with a boiler for both heat and hot water and metal studs .

I was told there was no asbestos.I was told there were no water, mold, or foundation problems (inspection is next week)The exterior condition is nice, the siding looks good and the staircase to the 2nd floor is made of metal.

You can mitigate sound between floors by removing sheetrock, installing insulation, applying metal strips and thicker sheet rock, but thats a costly upgrade.

I have a few cottages and the one duplex that are STVR but given my target demographic, I don't see the mobile homes as aligning with my strategy.I am looking at modular/manufactured homes as one possibility for putting an ADU into one property, and am looking at building with metal SIPs for a relatively inexpensive and energy efficient new build on a vacant lot I have.
