Is anyone familiar with whether or not the remaining annual property taxes have to be paid upfront (essentially cash) at the closing or if they can be rolled into the monthly mortgage payment?

in the Portland market you have the REIA and you have RAREBIRD  RB is an annual fee but it weeds out many and the folks that are members are doing deals.. the folks running it are experienced and they do a very nice job I always recommend this group..

I've used Michael Blanc's Syndicated Deal Analyzer which I think is great if trying to put together a syndication, which I'm not, so I'm wondering if people use something simpler that can still help to analyze P&L and project CoC returns annually as well as IRR.

This will normally result in less upfront/annual filing fees.ExampleProperty is in NY and LLC is formed in NY - Will result in paying fees to NYProperty is in NY and you initially form LLC in MA - You will be required to register the LLC in NY resulting in fees to NY and MA.If you decide to choose to acquire properties in FL and WI - The LLC would be required to register to do business in those states.Let me know if you have any additional questions.
