I'm a 1 man show responsible for sales negotiation, design, writing custom contracts, supervision, accounting, The company opened in 1985 and has never had a complaint filed on it (or me) and neither have ever have even been threatened with a law suit. ( pretty hard to say in this business)I 2011, I said screw this economy and shipped my boat to the Virgin Islands where I started a Charter boat business.

I remember that one of my acquaintances seemed puzzled that by the end of the semester, I had an "A" in our biology lab class and she had a "C".

Therefore, my BIL and our family are doing as much of the work ourselves as we can and supervising laborors where it makes sense.

Then I might point out I'm not withholding and what tah's worth to them.Then I might say, tell ya what, I'll pay you XX an hour and I'll help you (supervise) and pay no more than XXX for the job, which ever is less.

I think it comes down to parental supervision, and diligence as a community to point out bad behavior as it appears.

Though I have been in the building trade for 43 years, supervised for half of that time, this is still a new format for me.
