Why anyone in the world would want to continue doing that job when they are despised and now under constant threat is beyond me.

Companies like Microsoft have had its fair share of harassment by the DOJ.So even in a free market environment, the government will often identify trends and developments that may put at risk its national security and hence have to act to address the threat  or may intervene to bring about equity and fairness.

Some states have laws that address threats from tenants, and I believe the laws need to be amended to address this in Massachusetts.

@Edward Briley Good points.Regarding the mother's involvement, I would certainly let the daughter out of the lease to avoid conflict and anxiety, but don't think her litigious threats will go very far.  

If there are threats or uncomfortableness that is local authorities issues not a landlord issue correct?
