I have seen people who have experienced the sudden unexpected passing of their loved ones struggle with their own fears of mortality and death, so my humble advice is to honor your father by living your life how you want and chasing your dreams/goals, whether that means building upon his estate (and assimilating it into yours) or selling to work with a new slate.
