So @James Green, to answer your question I pushed full steam ahead with inspectors and got a normal inspector, boiler system inspection, sewer line scoped, etc.  

Also I paid them 400 for fixing parts on some steam radiatorsThe guys finish up and I pay them their money as everything works, a week later I notice that the radiators aren't heating but the main pipes that run up the wall are boiling hot. 

That being said, if the carpet is not properly steamed with minimal water left behind, the potential for damaging them is still likely.If you have any other questions, please let me know.

My thoughts were to pay-off the existing rental property while the renters pay me a steady steam-of-cash.
