Ashley, if you are still a naval spouse, I would suggest the next time you are relocated that you consider buying a house via a VA loan wherever you end up stationed (excluding San Diego because it is too expensive) and do this every time you move. 

Definitely take advantage of your VA loan on your first one.

Another person I know has a house in VA, FL,& TX.

I just had to fight tooth and nail to close a VA condo purchase for a client with a POA that was actually fairly well run, relatively speaking.
