We have a few dozen resort communities that are built specifically to be STR and you won't have to worry about zoning or regulations or even HOA cutting you out.It is a very competitive market with so many units, so you do have to be a good operator and have a clean, attractive, well located and themed out home to stand out and perform well.

If you are going to dive into that either be in a resort community near Disney (there are about 10 really good ones and dozens of okay ones) or be in a smaller town that may not necessarily be for Theme park goers.

I have a couple of units and is working very great by the way we are building 30 units of suits apartments for Airbnb ( not for sale ) But if you are worried because of the all-inclusive resorts remember not all people travel to a new country to be 24/7 inside a resort there are many things to do in DR starting with knowing the culture, history, and of course the gastronomy and you will never find out that inside a resort.

In addition, many townhomes have a splash pool and all of the communities have a clubhouse with resort style pools and many have lazy rivers in addition to the homes having pools.

I do have some saving and assets I could liquidate, but I prefer that as a last resort.
