In other words, are note investors looking for an ultimate percentage yield when discount is factored in, or do they seek the discount and let the yield fall where it may?    

Ultimately, all investments and monetary systems depend on confidence in the system.

Our ultimate goal is to have around $1mil liquidity to be able to purchase our own land, build our own home, and still have a little bit of a buffer, while also having rental properties for our passive income.I know we could fairly quickly get to $1mil buy buying and selling but I wanted to know what you all thought about what a good roadmap might be regarding that (how many properties to buy and rent vs sell, etc).I have a friend who is very active in these forums who originally lived in Los Angeles and his first properties were basically in the ghetto of the middle of the US.Would a good route be to purchase apartments in the ghetto and be a slumlord for a while to launch our empire?

Hopefully at this point you'll be living mortgage payment free and can survive off of wife's income while you build a business. 

I think the idea of an anonymous LLC is cool but ultimately seems like too much of a headache to pursue.  

Seems there is no "common" way to pay yourself since everyone has a different strategy and each strategy will ultimately determine the best way to earn a living.

Having dead equity returns nothing and ultimately costs you money to maintain.The property is a money pit in upkeep and lost income, how can you change that .

Ultimately we still haven’t filled the vacancies and are still having issues with a sec 8 accounting ( which they claim is not their fault and I have spoken with others verifying that the sec 8 is difficult to work with and very unorganized) At what point do I cut my losses and move on to a new PM.

Ultimately we have it rented out and will be looking to sell this property in 2019.
