I'm new to real estate, but working in the same general area in Southeast MI.

When you say Detroit are you thinking in the actual city of Detroit or the general area of southeast Michigan?

There are other markets in Southeast where you still have low entry point and higher job growth and more desirability.

Looking to invest in rental properties in south east Michigan and Lexington, Kentucky areas. 

Nearly all of the midwest, south, south east, north, northeast.

There are some good places to invest here and there are places I avoid like the plague -  many of the posters have nailed it as far as north of Shaw - there are also other nice little pockets in south east Fresno too - I would be more than happy to help you look around the area.  

For those reasons we select markets in the midwest & south east that have much better investment opportunity & outlook. 

Cleveland has this thing by it called Lake Erie which is a large body of water which shaves off half of its geographical footprint versus Columbus that has a North, South, East and West.

Big fan of the South East between Bexley and CBD.
