I got death and legal threats.

I see a deteriorating property with increasing repair costs and higher taxes with a threat of increasing vacancies.

I recently put a lot of resources into improving the exterior of a home and was harassed to the point of threats of fines and court dates, because my contractor couldn't complete the work fast enough!!!

I don't do assignments.I'm guessing the broker mentioned by mentioned by the OP Does understand wholesaling, and doesn't see any wholesaler as a threat to their business.

The threat of filing a suit may bring a reluctant party to the table.
