Your use of "uncertainty" is usually referred to as "volatility", but is also often confused with "risk".

So volatility is very different between the two.

When you hold a diversified portfolio you are not only limiting your downside and volatility risk, you are also positioning yourself to capture non-systemic returns that occur in other real estate asset classes and investment strategies outside of buying and holding multi-family assets. 

With the stock market being extremely volatile, just like many of the members in the BP Community, is the reason why I love real estate so much!

I am looking for ways to get out of this pressure by understanding more about investment, I don't like stock because it is too volatile to handle.

Finding people who are tired of the volatility of the stock market who are looking for alternative investment options is what you need.

I have now scaled my portfolio to 20 properties and have found that fewer properties lead to more volatility.

Thank you for your responses...I am happy to say that my friend is proving to be very supportive and actually wants to work with me...my step-father and I have a poor relationship...he is not really like a father....it isn't a bad/volatile situation just kinda cold...it's a long story and there are many children in my family, so he keeps his distance...with time, if I stay interested, he could be an ally...but I don't see him as a mentor...I am excited to be a part of this community...also there is a local REIA meetup tomorrow that I will attend.
