Replaced all water and lighting fixtures. repainted the entire house.

(i.e. replacing windows, floors, repainting 2 tone in unit we bought that's all cream, new floors, new kitchen or bath vanity, etc.)

Sheet rocked laundry room ceiling.Repair siding and repaint in Spring.

It's all I know.What worries me is that I will find that ugly, pink and green house with an outdated kitchen, small rooms, linoleum floors, and carpeting in the bathrooms, but the sellers want $$$$$ for this eyesore because they had to pay for lead abatement for then old, peeling pink paint outside (repainted a new, lead free pink and green) and all new hideous everything, and they hired workers "approved by the city" (ie 3x normal coverage cost of repair).

The last building is also "new construction" and I am in the midst of completing makeover type renovations there- fully repaint, refinish HW floors, replace bath vanities, window treatments, etc., etc., Basically lots of little PITA things.  

by the time you get all the texture off and refinish and repaint the ceiling you are not saving anything. 

I have saved tens of thousands over the years between siding and decks, and garages and additions along with basic repaints and handyman work.

BTW my estimate on painting cabinets versus replacing cabinets came to not much difference because the painted cabinets need re-painting earlier than the replaced cabinets need replacing.My family has had rentals since the 1970s. 

He went on to explain that all the remediation company will do is wipe it down with Dawn dish detergent and repaint the surface.I would love to save on the rehab costs but do not want to set myself up for issues down the road.  

Ok, we own the above fourplex and we're looking to have the exterior repainted.
