If you expect to stay in the same state and you have a pre-paid plan available, I would put at least part of my funds towards that. 4 years is probably going overboard, but 2 or 3 per child would be pretty reasonable.

I've had some collect 3 months and another collect 6.So I believe 2 things would have happened at closing, prorate of sellers prepaid taxes (back to them) and the collection of the buyers future taxes for escrow.
