craigslistbandit signs nearby that lead to houselist it in the mls yourself or for sale by owner.combannersone idea I had that I have not personally used is the person I own a house with currently is also a manager at a very well known wine store, and to have them "sponsor" a wine /beer tasting and have it at the house on an open house day in order to get more bodies through the door. maybe you could take that idea and team up with someone you know who owns a restaurant etc.

It has been my experience with in my industry, and also going to different types of courses for different types of money making stratagies, that they all just give you a little taste the first time, to sell you the second, much more expensive course.

I dont know what kind of poor people you deal with, but poor people I know eat what they can get (low end food) and cook it in grease to make it taste better.I've been working with mid to upper-end stuff for four years now and it has treated me pretty well.
