I'm loving the excitement of finding the community and the amazing education that I have begun to devour over the last couple of weeks.I grew up in Arkansas with a single mother and lived my formative years in a house built by Habitat for Humanity...so while my real estate buying experience is limited to my wife and I having purchased our first home in 2015, I know first hand the power of a stable home to change lives.

This one was clean, in good shape, and seemed to only need paint.Hah...I now have learned that 'only needs paint' means plan to spend 5k...and not just on paint.We put in new doors as the old ones were warped, a new huge front window (found a great replacement at Habitat for Humanity in Chico for 60 bucks for a 60-50) and Im replacing a broken countertop that is 12'long.Then...paint inside and out...some landscaping.

Assuming you have standard pallets, 4x4 stacked 4 feet high, this sounds like over $2000 in dump fees alone.There's a store here like the Habitat for Humanity store.
