I know several people from California who have been purchasing a couple of duplexes in the Midwest each year.

Has anybody recommendations of cheap markets to buy rentals where we a young couple could peotentially live in vicinity to a good job market/bigger city? 

I'm in a couple of funds so the range is 10-12%.  

And it doesn't seem to spoil the charm for couples on a romantic getaway.We've been able to raise the nightly rate 2-3x with better occupancy. 

We do a small fruit basket and 2 bottles of wine (1st one complimentary, 2nd one, there's a "pay envelope" $10).BUT nothing says welcome to Eugene, Oregon like a couple of joints... :-)(just kidding, but depending on the Guests demographics, we can direct them to the best dispensaries...)

As we have all seen, Californians are leaving in droves over the past couple of years, and fleeing to Florida, Texas and yep...Arizona.As long as we continue to stay under LAs housing market for affordability, we are going to continue to net those homeowners wanting an upgrade to a bigger house or lot.
